This bent spring applies tension to the scraper blade on the seed drill metering wheel. It holds the scraper against the wheel face to remove excess seed or debris. A spring that has lost its tension allows the scraper to lift away, leading to uneven seed singulation and blocked seed tubes. This original spring is formed to the same free length and coil count as the factory assembly, so the scraper maintains consistent contact pressure without adjustment.
