This dispenser meters granular fertilizer from the hopper into the delivery tube that leads to the soil-engaging coulter. It is the rotating metering component in the seed drill's fertilizer system, controlling the rate at which product is released. A worn or jammed dispenser causes uneven application rates, leading to streaking in the field. As an original component, its internal metering geometry matches the housing bore and drive shaft interface, so no recalibration of the feed rate is needed after replacement.
