This gear transmits drive from the metering shaft to the seed-metering disc inside the grain drill. It is a spur gear with twenty teeth, machined to match the original assembly's tooth profile and pitch. A worn or damaged gear causes the metering disc to skip, leading to uneven seed spacing.
