This photoelectric sensor, designated as a MECA V4 unit, monitors the seed flow in the metering system of a precision seeder. It detects the passage of individual seeds through the seed tube, providing a signal to the cab display that allows the operator to verify that each row is planting correctly. A failed or obstructed sensor will result in a false blockage alarm or fail to register a genuine blockage, leading to undetected skips in the field. The sensor is an original component, meaning its optical characteristics and housing geometry match the factory specification for the seeder's monitor system.
