This block locks the hexagonal shaft that drives the metering disc in the seed drill. It prevents the shaft from rotating when the drill is lifted or during transport, stopping seed flow at the correct moment. A worn or missing block allows the shaft to spin freely, causing seed to continue metering when it should not. The original geometry matches the shaft's hex profile so the block seats without play and engages positively with the stop mechanism.
