This furrow opener body houses the seed-tube assembly and the coulter that cuts the seed trench. It mounts to the seeder frame and positions the opener disc at the correct angle and depth for consistent seed placement. The body absorbs the mechanical loads from soil contact and the forces generated during turns. A worn or bent body causes the disc to run out of alignment, leading to uneven trench depth and poor seed-to-soil contact. The manufacturer machines the mounting surfaces to match the original frame geometry so no shimming is required during replacement.
