This gas strut controls the opening and closing motion of the cab door on the host tractor. It provides a controlled damping force that holds the door in the open position and prevents it from slamming shut. The strut is a direct replacement for the original component, matching the original mounting geometry and gas charge pressure so the door operates with the same resistance and travel as when new. A strut that has lost its charge will allow the door to drop freely, creating a pinch hazard and making entry and exit difficult. When installing, ensure the rod end and cylinder end are oriented correctly so the damping orifice works in the proper direction.
