This gas spring provides controlled lifting and damping force for the tractor cab hood or door. It is a replacement unit that matches the original mounting points and gas charge pressure, so the cab panel opens smoothly and stays in position without drifting. The piston rod extends and retracts within a sealed cylinder filled with pressurized nitrogen; the internal damping orifice controls the speed of movement at both ends of the stroke. Over time, the seal around the piston rod can lose its charge, causing the spring to lose lifting force and the cab panel to sag or close unexpectedly. This replacement restores the original counterbalance force. On installation, ensure the rod is oriented with the damped end toward the moving part of the cab panel.
