The upper of the FUNCTION Active shoes is made of genuine cowhide suede, and thanks to the integrated membrane they are waterproof, breathable and very comfortable even in wet conditions. The shoes are easy to put on and take off thanks to the pull tabs at the front and back. The FUNCTION Active chainsaw work shoes also have a removable, ergonomic insole that can be replaced with an orthopedic insole in accordance with DGUV Rule 112-191. Designed with a wider, universal fit, the FUNCTION Active shoes are suitable for both women and men.
The shoes have a durable steel toe cap that protects the toes, as well as wear- and abrasion-resistant toe protection and comprehensive edge protection. The cut protection, which runs along the entire front part of the foot, including the tongue, also ensures safety when working with a chainsaw. The orange and reflective elements used increase visibility and thus safety.

Cut-protective clothing is classified into 4 cut protection classes according to EN ISO 11393. The level of cut protection determines the maximum chain speed tested under standard conditions. The rated value 1 corresponds to a chain speed of 20 m/s.
Contains special materials that are pulled into the chain in a fraction of a second and stop the chainsaw. Cut-protective footwear also has durable inserts that significantly slow down any cutting of the material. The protective cover includes the entire front part of the foot together with the tongue and the left and right edges of the upper next to the tongue. The steel caps installed in the shoes protecting against cuts are also helpful, as they can effectively block the saw chain. Note: No personal protective equipment provides complete protection against injury. It does not replace safe working techniques.
Steel caps protect the feet from injuries. The EN 20345 hardness test verifies the strength. During a simulation in which a 200-kilogram weight falls on the shoe from a height of 1 m, the steel toe must withstand it, and the foot must not be injured.
