This left-side moldboard bar is the structural member that supports the plow body's moldboard surface. It bolts to the plow frame and provides the mounting points for the moldboard sheet, which turns and fractures the furrow slice. The bar carries the full tensile and torsional load from soil engagement, so any distortion here changes the moldboard's curvature and degrades furrow inversion. A bent or cracked bar causes uneven draft and poor soil burial. This component is machined to match the original body's hole pattern so the moldboard sheet sits flat without shimming. When replacing, use new hardware and torque the mounting bolts to the implement manufacturer's specification.
