3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Structural Plastic Adhesive DP8005 is a two-part acrylic-based adhesive with a 10:1 mix ratio by volume, specifically formulated to bond many low surface energy plastics, including polypropylene, polyethylene, and thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs), without special surface preparation. It offers excellent resistance to water, humidity, and various chemicals. This solvent-free adhesive can replace screws, rivets, and welding in multi-material assemblies involving LSE plastics, thermoplastics, composites, and metals. It has a 2.5-3 minute work life and achieves handling strength in 2-3 hours at room temperature (23°C/73°F), with full cure in 8-24 hours. The adhesive contains 0.20 mm (0.008 inch) glass beads for bondline thickness control. For maximum shelf life, it should be stored at 4°C (40°F) or below, providing an 18-month shelf life from the date of manufacture.
