This lock secures the housing cover on a baler, preventing the cover from opening during operation. It engages with the latch mechanism on the housing to keep the assembly closed under the vibration and load of baling. A worn or misaligned lock may allow the cover to release unexpectedly, which can interrupt the baling cycle and expose moving parts. The original geometry matches the latch and housing interface so that the lock seats correctly without modification.
