The seal sits at the housing bore where the PTO shaft exits the tractor; its lip rides on the rotating shaft surface to maintain a fluid-tight barrier. A worn seal typically presents as oil seepage around the PTO shaft, which can lead to bearing contamination and eventual driveline noise if left unaddressed. As an original-manufacturer component, the seal is molded to the same lip geometry and interference fit as the assembly it replaces, ensuring the spring-loaded lip contacts the shaft at the correct pressure without requiring shimming or adapter sleeves. On reinstallation, inspect the shaft surface for grooving and lubricate the seal lip before fitting.
