This ball joint connects the steering knuckle to the front axle beam, allowing the wheel hub to pivot for steering while transmitting vertical and lateral loads from the axle to the chassis. It is the pivot point between the axle end and the steering arm assembly. Wear in the ball joint produces free play that causes wandering steering, uneven tire wear, and clunking noises when turning at low speed. The original AGCO part is machined to the same taper and thread dimensions as the factory assembly, so the joint seats fully in the knuckle bore without shimming or adapter sleeves. On installation, tighten the castellated nut to the specified torque and install a new cotter pin.
