This reverse shaft washer sits between the reverse shaft and the gearbox housing, controlling axial play on the shaft. It maintains the correct end float so the reverse gear engages fully without binding. A worn or missing washer allows shaft movement that produces a clunk during engagement and can lead to gear tooth damage. The original AGCO part is stamped to the same thickness as the production assembly, so no shimming or measurement adjustment is needed during replacement. On installation, clean the shaft shoulder and housing face, then fit the washer dry.
