This throttle cable transmits the operator's speed command from the pedal or hand lever to the engine's fuel-injection governor. It is a push-pull cable assembly that spans the distance between the cab control and the engine-mounted linkage. The inner wire moves within a lined conduit, converting linear motion at one end into proportional travel at the other. Over time, friction from dirt ingress or kinking in the conduit can cause the cable to bind, resulting in sluggish or non-responsive throttle changes.
