This washer is installed in the hydraulic lift assembly of the host tractor. It functions as a spacer or shim between rotating or stationary components to maintain correct axial clearance. A worn or missing washer allows excessive end-play in the lift mechanism, which can cause misalignment of the control valve spool or pump drive. The manufacturer machines this component to the original thickness specification so that the preload on the adjacent assembly is preserved without requiring additional shimming.
