This speedshift disc wave spring sits inside the transmission, where it applies a controlled axial load to the clutch pack assembly. The spring's wavy profile generates the preload that governs engagement timing and shift quality. A fatigued or collapsed spring reduces clamp force, leading to gear chatter and delayed engagement.
