This fuel filter element removes contaminants from the fuel supply before it reaches the injection system. It is installed in the fuel line between the tank and the high-pressure pump, where it protects the injectors and pump internals from abrasive particles. A restricted element reduces fuel flow, causing power loss and hard starting under load. The manufacturer's construction matches the housing sealing surface so the bypass valve seats correctly, preventing unfiltered fuel from reaching the injection system during normal operation. Replace the element at the interval specified for the host machine and bleed the fuel system after installation.
