This hydraulic filter element removes particulate contamination from the fluid circulating in the tractor's hydraulic system. It is installed in the filter housing on the pressure or return side of the hydraulic loop, protecting downstream components such as control valves and actuators from abrasive wear. A clogged filter element forces the system's bypass valve to open, allowing unfiltered fluid to circulate, which can lead to valve sticking and reduced pump efficiency. This original-manufacturer component is built to the same pleat density and bypass-valve cracking pressure as the assembly it replaces, ensuring the filter housing seals correctly and the bypass valve opens only when the element is fully loaded. On reinstallation, replace the housing seal and tighten the cap to the specified torque.
