A worn seal allows oil to weep from the housing, which can lead to bearing contamination and reduced lubrication pressure. This component is manufactured to the original housing bore tolerance and shaft contact geometry, so it seats correctly without additional shimming or sealant. On installation, ensure the sealing lip faces the oil reservoir and that the shaft surface is free of burrs or scoring.
