This transmission expansion ring is an original AGCO component designed for use inside the gearbox of the host tractor. It functions as a preloaded spacer that maintains consistent axial pressure on the gear train, preventing unwanted movement or slack between shafts and gears under load. A worn or collapsed ring allows end-play to develop in the gear cluster, which can produce audible rattle and accelerate tooth wear. As an original part, its spring rate and free height are matched to the gearbox housing dimensions so that the preload remains within the design range without requiring shimming. On installation, inspect the ring for permanent set and replace it if the free height has decreased.
