A worn or leaking damper allows harsh engagement, which accelerates wear on the clutch disc and driveline splines. The AGCO-manufactured unit matches the original damping rate, so the clutch pack engages at the designed speed without chatter. On reinstallation, ensure the mounting bolts are torqued to specification and that the damper is oriented correctly in the linkage.
