This turbocharger gasket seals the joint between the turbocharger and the exhaust manifold or the turbocharger and the intake piping on the host tractor. It prevents exhaust gas leakage at the connection, which would otherwise reduce boost pressure and allow unmetered air into the intake system. A failed gasket produces a whistling noise under load and a drop in engine power. As an original part from the engine manufacturer, the gasket is formed to the same thickness and crush profile as the original assembly, ensuring the turbocharger clamps to the correct preload without over-compressing the seal. On reinstallation, clean both mating surfaces and tighten the mounting fasteners to the specified torque.
