This kingpin sensor detects the angular position of the steered wheel relative to the axle housing. It sits at the pivot point of the steering knuckle and sends a signal to the electronic control unit that manages the front-wheel steering angle. A failed sensor produces erratic steering response or a warning light on the dash, as the control unit no longer receives accurate position feedback. The original sensor matches the mounting geometry and electrical connector pinout of the assembly it replaces, so no adapter harness or bracket modification is needed.
