This ball joint connects the steering linkage to the front axle knuckle, allowing the wheel hub to pivot as the steering arm moves. It sits at the interface between the tie rod and the steering knuckle on the host tractor. A worn joint introduces free play in the steering system, causing imprecise directional control and uneven tire wear. The original part is machined to the same taper and thread pitch as the knuckle bore, so no shimming or adapter sleeves are required during installation. Torque the retaining nut to specification and secure it with a new cotter pin on reinstall.
