A restricted filter causes a gradual loss of engine power and hard starting, particularly under load. The manufacturer specifies the filter element's sealing surfaces and bypass-valve cracking pressure to match the original assembly, so the fuel system maintains correct flow and priming behavior. Replace the filter at the interval specified in the host machine's service schedule, and bleed air from the system after installation.
