This left-side knife mounts on the cutterbar of a disc mower. It is the cutting element that severs crop material as the discs rotate. The knife is secured to the disc carrier and interacts with the adjacent knife on the opposite side to create a scissor-like cutting action. A dull or damaged knife leaves ragged stubble and increases the power draw on the driveline. As an original AGCO component, the hole pattern and blade profile match the factory disc geometry, so the knife seats correctly without modification. When replacing, inspect the disc carrier for wear and tighten the retaining hardware to the specified torque.
