This left-side steering rod connects the steering gear to the front-axle knuckle on the host tractor. It transmits lateral motion from the steering linkage to the wheel hub, converting rotational input from the steering wheel into a turning angle at the wheel. A worn rod end or bent shaft introduces play in the steering system, causing imprecise directional control and uneven tire wear. This original component is machined to match the taper and thread pitch of the original steering arm and tie-rod socket, so no shimming or adapter sleeves are needed during installation. When replacing, torque the ball-joint nut to the manufacturer's specification and secure the cotter pin.
