This right-side steering rod connects the steering gearbox output to the front-axle steering knuckle on the host tractor. It transmits lateral motion from the drag link into the wheel hub, converting rotational input from the steering wheel into a turning angle at the wheels. Wear at the ball-joint ends produces free play that manifests as a wandering steering feel and uneven tire wear. As an original component, the rod is manufactured to the same ball-joint preload and taper dimensions as the assembly it replaces, so no shimming or adapter sleeves are required during installation.
