This cabin temperature sensor monitors the air temperature inside the operator cab. It sends a signal to the climate control system, which adjusts the heating or ventilation output to maintain the setpoint. The sensor is mounted in the cab interior, typically in the headliner or on a pillar, where it can sample ambient air without direct solar radiation. A failed sensor can cause the climate system to blow either full heat or full cold, or to cycle erratically, because the control unit receives an incorrect temperature reading.
