The carrier absorbs static loads from the cab and dynamic loads from the chassis during operation. A cracked or corroded carrier allows the cab mounting points to shift, which can misalign the steering column and control linkages. The manufacturer produces this carrier to the same material grade and weld specification as the original assembly, so the bolt-hole pattern and flange thickness match the chassis without requiring shimming. On replacement, clean the chassis mounting surface of all rust and debris, and torque the frame bolts to the value specified for the host tractor.
