This oil seal is installed on the front axle of the host tractor. It sits at the interface between the rotating shaft and the stationary housing, retaining lubricant inside the axle assembly while excluding contaminants such as dust, mud, and water. A worn or hardened seal allows lubricant to leak past the contact lip, which can lead to reduced gear and bearing life inside the differential and final drive. This original-manufacturer component is molded to the same lip profile and spring tension as the seal supplied with the axle assembly, so it maintains the correct interference fit against the shaft without requiring shimming or adapter sleeves. On installation, inspect the shaft surface for scoring or a wear groove; if present, the shaft should be sleeved or replaced before the new seal is fitted.
