It is installed in the return line of the tractor's hydraulic system, where it protects downstream components such as the steering and implement actuators from abrasive wear. A clogged filter element forces the bypass valve open, allowing unfiltered fluid to circulate, which accelerates internal leakage in the pump and valve spools. As an original-manufacturer component, the filter media and bypass cracking pressure are matched to the housing's flow characteristics, ensuring the valve opens only when the element is fully loaded. Replace the housing seal on reinstall and torque the cap to the specified value.
