This flail is the left-hand component of a matched pair for the threshing drum. It is the hinged beater that strikes the crop material against the concave, separating the grain from the straw. A worn or missing flail reduces threshing efficiency and can cause uneven wear on the drum assembly. As an original AGCO part, the pivot bore and striking face are machined to the same geometry as the factory assembly, ensuring the correct clearance and swing arc without requiring shimming. When replacing, install the flail with the matched right-hand counterpart and torque the pivot bolt to the specification for the drum.
