This water pump circulates coolant through the engine block, cylinder head, and radiator to maintain operating temperature. It is driven by the engine's belt system and mounts directly to the front of the block. The impeller inside the pump housing moves coolant at a rate matched to the engine's thermal load. A failing pump typically produces a coolant leak from the weep hole, bearing noise, or insufficient flow that leads to overheating. As an original-manufacturer component, the casting and impeller geometry match the engine's coolant passages, so no adapter or flow-restrictor is needed.
