This hydraulic oil filter removes particulate from the hydraulic circuit before the fluid reaches the control valves and actuators. It mounts in the return-side housing of the tractor's hydraulic system, where it traps wear debris that would otherwise score spool bores and piston seals. A clogged element forces the system into bypass, allowing unfiltered oil to circulate and accelerating internal leakage. The manufacturer machines the filter media and end caps to match the housing's sealing geometry, so the bypass valve cracks at the correct pressure differential. Replace the housing seal when installing a new element.
