This shaft seal fits the three-point linkage of the host tractor. It prevents hydraulic fluid from leaking past the linkage shaft where it exits the housing, protecting the system from contamination and pressure loss. A worn seal allows oil to weep along the shaft, leading to gradual fluid loss and eventual contamination of the linkage mechanism. This original part is manufactured to the same cross-section and material specification as the original assembly, so it seats correctly in the housing groove without modification. On installation, clean the shaft surface and housing bore thoroughly, and lubricate the seal lip before pressing it into place.
