This reinforced coulter point is the forward-facing wear component on a chisel plow or deep tillage shank. It penetrates and fractures the soil ahead of the shank body, reducing draft force and protecting the shank from abrasive wear. The point mounts to the shank using two bolts; the specified bolt size ensures a secure clamp against the shank face. Wear on the point’s leading edge increases draft and degrades soil fracture consistency, requiring replacement to maintain tillage depth and energy efficiency. The reinforcing material in the point extends service life in abrasive conditions compared to a standard un-reinforced point.
