This share point is the forward-facing tip of a chisel plow shank. It penetrates and fractures the soil ahead of the sweep or wing assembly mounted behind it. The two mounting holes align with the shank bracket; the matching plow screw M12x80 secures it. Wear on the leading edge causes the point to lose its soil-penetrating profile, increasing draft force and reducing tillage depth consistency. The manufacturer machines the mounting face to the same thickness as the original assembly so no shimming is required during replacement.
