New Holland 10099 – EDC: Front Suspension Mode Not Enabled
Issue description
Fault code 10099 indicates that the front suspension system's operational mode is electronically set to 'disabled' within the tractor's control module software. This is typically not a direct physical component failure, but a status setting within the controller. This condition often arises after a control module has been replaced or after performing an 'H8' diagnostic procedure, which clears all calibration and configuration settings from the controller's memory. As a safety precaution, the suspension defaults to a 'Not enabled' state and must be electronically re-enabled before it can be calibrated and function correctly.

Check the cause
Verify that 10099 is the active fault code using the tractor's instrument cluster display or an Electronic Service Tool (EST).
Check for other active fault codes. Code 10024 ('Front Suspension not calibrated') will often accompany 10099, as calibration cannot be performed while the system is disabled.
Review recent service history to determine if the suspension controller or another major electronic module was recently replaced, or if an 'H8 - Clear EEPROM' procedure was performed.
Repair steps
Connect diagnostic tool
With the tractor off, plug the diagnostic connector (Part Number: 380000843 or equivalent) into the diagnostic socket.
Enter HH Menu
Turn the ignition key switch ON. The instrument cluster display will show 'HH MENU', indicating that the service menu has been activated.
Navigate to H3 Menu
Use the 'h' (hour), 'm' (minute), and 'dimming' buttons on the instrument cluster to navigate through the menus. Press the 'dimming' button to scroll through the main 'H' menus. Stop when you reach the 'H3 - Configurations' menu.
Enable suspension
Within the H3 menu, navigate to the front suspension sub-system. The display will show 'ch _ _' and the current setting. Use the 'h' or 'm' buttons to toggle the setting from 'No' (disabled) to 'Yes' (enabled). Press and hold the 'h' or 'm' button to save the setting until an audible tone confirms it is stored.
Navigate to H1 Menu
Using the 'dimming' button, navigate from the H3 menu to the 'H1 - Calibration Procedures' menu. Select the suspension symbol using the navigation buttons. The display will show 'CAL' for a few seconds.
Prepare for calibration
Start the engine and set the speed to approximately 1100-1300 RPM. Ensure the tractor is on level ground, the parking brake is applied, and all implements are disconnected.
Initiate calibration
Press and hold the suspension lockout switch for two seconds. The lower central display will show 'ACP' (Automatic Calibration Procedure), and the indicator lamp on the switch will flash.
Complete calibration sequence
The system will automatically cycle the suspension, activating the unload and raise valves to move the axle to its maximum and minimum heights to learn the position sensor range. This process may need to be repeated two or three times to ensure all air is vented from the hydraulic system. Once finished, the 'ACP' message will disappear, and fault codes 10099 and 10024 should clear. Turn the ignition key OFF and remove the diagnostic connector.
