New Holland 18068 – ACM: EHR 3 Lever Implausibility Error
Issue description
The Armrest Control Module (ACM) has detected a signal from the control lever for the number 3 Electro-Hydraulic Remote (EHR) valve that is outside of the expected or plausible range. This implausibility error indicates that the signal is not logical (e.g., too high, too low, or intermittent), which points to a potential failure within the lever's internal electronics or potentiometers, directly affecting the control and operation of the remote valve.

Check the cause
Inspect the wiring and connectors between the number 3 EHR lever and the armrest control module for any visible damage, corrosion, or loose connections
Check for other active fault codes related to the armrest controller or reference voltage (such as 18061 or 18062), which could indicate a broader electrical issue rather than a failed lever
Perform a lever wiggle test when the fault is active (often indicated by a cylinder icon on the display); if wiggling the number 3 lever temporarily clears the fault, it strongly suggests an internal issue with the lever itself
Test resistance and continuity across the lever's connector pins (often orange, black, and green wires) to compare against a known good lever
Use the New Holland Electronic Service Tool (EST) to monitor live data from the lever, checking its exact position and signal voltage to confirm if it is out of range or not returning to a neutral center position correctly
Repair steps
De-energize the system
Turn the tractor off and disconnect the battery to ensure the electrical system is completely de-energized before beginning work.
Access the armrest internals
Disassemble the armrest control panel by removing the retaining screws and carefully lifting the control panel to gain access to the EHR lever assemblies.
Replace the faulty lever
Identify and disconnect the wiring harness from the number 3 EHR lever. Remove the mounting hardware securing the lever to the armrest assembly and replace it with the new part.
Reassemble
Secure the new lever, reconnect the wiring harness, and reassemble the armrest control panel.
Reconnect Power
Reconnect the tractor's battery.
Perform EHR valve calibration
Warm the hydraulic fluid to a minimum of 50°C (122°F). Navigate to the 'H' menu or diagnostics/calibration menu on the tractor's display and select the EHR/remote valve calibration sub-menu. Clear old valve number assignments if required, and follow the on-screen prompts to calibrate each remote valve one by one. Note: A pressure transducer and jumper harness may be required for full calibration.
