New Holland 2067 – XCM: Clutch D Solenoid Valve Short to +12 V
Issue description
New Holland fault code 2067 indicates that the transmission's Clutch D solenoid valve is experiencing a short circuit to the +12 volt power supply. This electrical fault suggests that the power supply wire is making an unintended connection with the control signal wire for the Clutch D solenoid, or that the solenoid's internal coil has failed in a shorted state. This condition can lead to improper operation of the clutch system, potentially causing harsh shifting, an inability to engage or disengage a specific gear pack, or the tractor entering a limp mode to prevent further damage.

Check the cause
Visually inspect the wiring harness leading to the Clutch D solenoid for any signs of chafing, melting, or damage that could cause a short to a 12V power source.
Check the solenoid's electrical connector (C025) for damage, corrosion, or pushed-out pins.
Perform a solenoid resistance test (internal short cause): Safely disconnect the battery and connector C025, then measure resistance across the solenoid terminals. Expected resistance is between 6 and 8 Ohms.
Perform a voltage check (wiring short cause): If solenoid resistance is normal, reconnect the battery, turn the key to ON (engine off), disconnect XCM connectors C533 and C535, and measure voltage between the Clutch D signal wire and a known good ground. The presence of +12V confirms a wiring harness short.
Repair steps
Confirm the Fault
Verify that fault code 2067 is active or present in the stored codes of the XCM controller.
Perform Diagnostic Checks
Follow the diagnostic checks listed above, starting with the solenoid resistance test.
Replace the Solenoid (if faulty)
If the resistance test fails, the Clutch D solenoid must be replaced. Relieve any hydraulic pressure in the system. Clean the area around the solenoid to prevent contamination of the hydraulic system. Unscrew and remove the old solenoid from the transmission valve block. Be prepared for some hydraulic fluid spillage. Install the new solenoid, ensuring any O-rings or seals are correctly seated. Torque the new solenoid to the manufacturer's specification. Reconnect the electrical connector.
Repair Wiring (if faulty)
If the solenoid tests good, the fault lies within the wiring harness. Trace the harness from the XCM controller to the solenoid connector, looking for the source of the short circuit to +12V. Repair the damaged section of the wire, ensuring the repair is sealed against moisture and abrasion.
Clear Fault Codes
After the repair is complete, reconnect the battery, start the tractor, and use the appropriate diagnostic tool or dashboard procedure to clear the fault codes.
Verify Repair
Operate the tractor and its transmission functions to ensure the problem is resolved and the fault code does not reappear. A transmission calibration may be recommended after replacing a clutch solenoid to ensure smooth engagement.
