New Holland 2095 – TCM: C1 Clutch Not Calibrated
Issue description
The system indicates that the C1 clutch pack within the transmission has not been properly calibrated. The Transmission Control Module (TCM) has not learned the specific hydraulic pressure and fill time required for smooth engagement of this clutch. This may affect the operation of the clutch and the overall performance of the machine, resulting in harsh or delayed shifting. This code is a prompt for a necessary calibration routine, often required after a component has been replaced.

Check the cause
Check for other active TRANS (Transmission) or ENG (Engine) fault codes, as sensor or solenoid issues can prevent a successful calibration.
Verify transmission oil temperature is between 10°C and 105°C (ideally around 60°C). Calibration will not start if the display shows 'CL' (Cold) or 'CH' (Hot).
Check battery voltage and chassis ground connections. Weak batteries or poor grounds can trigger ghost faults and interrupt calibration.
Review calibration failure codes ('U' codes) if an attempt fails (e.g., U20 for incorrect start-up sequence, U21/U22 for incorrect RPM, U23 for wrong shuttle position, or U32/U33 for C1 calibration value out of range).
Repair steps
General Preparation
Always park the tractor on level ground with the park brake engaged.
Method 1 (Electro Command / Range Command): Warm Up the Tractor
Operate the tractor until the transmission oil temperature is in the acceptable range (ideally around 60°C).
Method 1: Enter Calibration Mode
Hold both the upshift and downshift gear buttons while starting the engine, then release the buttons.
Method 1: Set Conditions
Release the clutch pedal. Place the shuttle lever in the forward position and the range lever in neutral (for C1/C2 calibration).
Method 1: Set Engine Speed
Adjust the engine speed to approximately 1200 RPM (+/- 100 RPM).
Method 1: Initiate Calibration
The display should show 'CAL' or the oil temperature. You may need to press a button (like the 'bunny' or auto-shift button) to cycle through to the clutch calibration menu.
Method 1: Calibrate C1 Clutch
When 'C1' appears on the display, press and hold the designated calibration button (often the downshift or 'turtle' button). The engine RPM will rise and then drop as the controller fills the clutch and detects the bite point.
Method 1: Complete Calibration
The display will show 'End' or a stable number when the C1 calibration is complete. Release the button. The system may automatically advance to the C2 clutch.
Method 1: Exit and Store
After all clutches are calibrated, turn the engine off and wait at least 10 seconds to allow the controller to store the new values.
Method 2 (Power Command): Warm Up the Tractor
Ensure transmission oil is at the correct operating temperature.
Method 2: Enter Calibration Mode
With the engine off, engage the handbrake, place the shuttle lever in neutral, and press and hold the clutch pedal. Press and hold both the upshift and downshift buttons, then start the engine and release the buttons.
Method 2: Release Clutch
Carefully release the clutch pedal. Do not leave the operator's seat, as this will interrupt the process.
Method 2: Initiate Auto-Calibration
Depress the upshift button until 'Dt' is displayed. Depress the clutch, move the shuttle lever to forward, and release the clutch. Momentarily press the auto-shift switch.
Method 2: Calibration in Progress
The engine speed will automatically increase to ~1200 RPM, and the clutches will calibrate sequentially.
Method 2: Exit and Store
When 'End' appears on the display, the sequence is complete. Turn the key off and wait 10 seconds for the values to be stored.
