New Holland 2345 – TCU: Transmission Powershift Electrical Control Fault
Issue description
This fault code indicates an electrical issue with the Clutch C3-4 solenoid, specifically an open or short circuit to ground. This condition prevents the proper electronic control of the powershift transmission, which can lead to shifting problems.

Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness and connectors leading to the C3-4 clutch solenoid for chafing, breaks, corrosion, and secure connections.
Using a digital multimeter, check for continuity and short circuits in the wiring to the solenoid (ensure no continuity to chassis ground from the power wire).
Disconnect the solenoid and measure resistance across its terminals (typically 5 to 30 ohms; 0 ohms indicates an internal short, infinite/OL indicates an open circuit).
Perform a solenoid activation test by briefly applying a 12-volt power source to the terminals to listen for an audible click (do not apply power for more than a second).
Repair steps
Isolate and de-energize
Ensure the tractor is on a level surface, parking brake engaged, and engine off. Disconnect the battery before beginning electrical repairs.
Locate the solenoid
Locate the C3-4 solenoid on the transmission control valve block using a service manual diagram for your specific model.
Repair wiring harness
If diagnostic tests reveal faulty wiring, repair or replace the damaged section of the harness.
Replace faulty solenoid
If the solenoid has incorrect resistance or fails the activation test, replace the solenoid valve.
Reassemble and calibrate
Reconnect all connectors and the battery. Start the tractor to verify the fault code has cleared. Perform a calibration of the transmission clutches if a solenoid was replaced.
