New Holland 2364 – Transmission Control Module (Trans): Even Clutch Not Calibrated
Issue description
The transmission control module (TCM) has detected that the 'Even' clutch pack has lost its calibration data. The transmission uses stored calibration values to determine the precise timing and hydraulic pressure required to engage each clutch pack smoothly. When these values are lost or out of range, the controller logs this fault, which may affect the performance of the tractor's transmission system, potentially causing limp-home mode or harsh shifting.

Check the cause
Check for other active fault codes, especially those related to transmission solenoids, sensors, or wiring (e.g., 2343 or 2353), and resolve them first
Verify transmission oil temperature is between 10°C and 60°C (50°F and 140°F) to prevent calibration rejection. If the oil is too cold ('CL') or too hot ('CH'), the calibration procedure will be rejected and may display a 'U' error code (e.g., U19, U20)
Check system voltage to ensure the battery is fully charged (above 12.5V) and all main power/ground connections are clean and tight
Visually inspect the wiring harness and connectors leading to the transmission control valve block for damage, corrosion, or loose connections. The 'H' menu on some models can be used to test the voltage and function of specific switches and sensors to help isolate electrical faults
Ensure correct operating conditions for calibration: tractor stationary, parking brake applied, and shuttle lever in neutral
Repair steps
Warm up the tractor
Operate the tractor until the transmission oil temperature is within the required range (above 10°C / 50°F).
Position the tractor
Park the tractor on level ground, engage the parking brake, and ensure the shuttle lever is in Neutral.
Enter calibration mode
With the engine off, press and hold both the upshift and downshift buttons simultaneously. While holding the buttons, start the engine. Release the buttons once the display shows 'CAL' or the transmission oil temperature.
Set engine RPM
Increase the engine speed to approximately 1200 RPM (+/- 50-100 RPM).
Initiate calibration sequence
Move the shuttle lever to the Forward position. The display will show the first clutch to be calibrated (e.g., 'A'). Press and hold the downshift button to begin calibrating. Continue holding until the engine RPM drops slightly and the calibration value on the screen stops flashing and becomes fixed.
Calibrate subsequent clutches
Release the downshift button. The display should automatically advance to the next clutch (e.g., 'B'). Repeat the process of pressing and holding the downshift button for each clutch until all (including the Even and Odd clutches) have been calibrated.
Complete and store calibration
After the last clutch is calibrated, the display may show 'CF' or 'End'. Turn the engine off and wait at least 10-15 seconds for the new calibration values to be stored in the controller's memory before restarting the tractor.
Replace solenoid (if calibration fails)
If the calibration fails repeatedly or a specific electrical fault for the 'Even Clutch' solenoid is identified, replace the transmission control solenoid valve or coil on the transmission control valve block.
