New Holland 2370 – Transmission: High Clutch Not Calibrated
Issue description
The transmission control module has detected that the high clutch pack has not been calibrated. The controller lacks the necessary data on the clutch's engagement point, which is learned during the calibration procedure and is essential for ensuring smooth gear shifts and proper transmission operation. This code is typically triggered if a new controller is installed, the controller's memory is reset, or if a previous calibration process was not completed successfully.

Check the cause
Check for and resolve any other active fault codes related to transmission solenoids, sensors, or wiring circuits (e.g., High Solenoid Open Circuit E65 or E39), as these will prevent successful calibration.
Check transmission oil temperature; it must be between 10°C and 105°C (displays showing 'CL' for cold or 'CH' for hot will prevent calibration initiation).
Verify engine speed can be held steadily at exactly 1200 RPM (+/- 100 RPM).
Ensure the parking brake is fully engaged, as any detected wheel motion will cause the procedure to fail.
Verify the shuttle lever is in the forward position.
Check battery voltage to ensure it is stable and sufficient for electronic procedures.
Repair steps
Warm up the transmission
Operate the tractor until the transmission oil temperature is within the required range (above 10°C).
Enter calibration mode
Method A (TM/60 Series): With engine off and handbrake engaged, press and hold upshift and downshift buttons while starting. Method B (Genesis): Key on, engine off, move shift lever to neutral and hold left while starting. Method C (Other Models): Use diagnostic test switch in cab connector to access 'HH' menu, then select H1.
Set engine RPM and position levers
Adjust the engine speed to exactly 1200 RPM and place the shuttle lever in the FORWARD position.
Calibrate the clutches
Select the High Clutch (often designated by a letter like C3, C4, or F) using the shift buttons. Press and hold the opposite button to begin calibration. The display number will scroll upwards as hydraulic pressure increases. Release the button when the controller detects a 50 RPM drop in engine speed, indicating the engagement point.
Save and exit
Once all clutches are calibrated (a 'CF' or 'End' message may appear), turn the key off and wait at least 10-15 seconds to allow the controller to store the new calibration values.
Clear fault codes
Restart the tractor and clear all transmission fault codes. If calibration fails, note the 'U' code displayed (e.g., U21 for low RPM, U31 for wheel motion) to diagnose the failure reason.
Inspect and replace hardware (if calibration repeatedly fails)
If calibration fails repeatedly and pre-conditions are met, inspect the high clutch solenoid, transmission speed sensors, and wiring harness for faults. If mechanically worn beyond limits, the high clutch pack itself may require replacement.
