New Holland 3102: Low Fuel Supply or CP3 Malfunction
Issue description
The fault code indicates a problem related to the fuel supply to the CP3 or an issue with the CP3 itself. This may include a restricted fuel filter, low output from the CP3, or a fault in the CP3 Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) signal.
Check the cause
Fuel filter condition and restriction
CP3 output performance
CP3 PWM signal integrity
Repair steps
Inspect the fuel filter for blockage or restriction.
Check the fuel filter for dirt, debris, or clogging that may be limiting fuel flow to the CP3.
Test the CP3 output.
Use appropriate diagnostic tools to measure the output of the CP3 and compare it to manufacturer specifications.
Check the CP3 PWM signal.
Use a diagnostic tool such as Atlas to verify the PWM output. At engine idle, the PWM should be at least 3%, and at full load, it should not exceed 24%.
Inspect for excessive fuel leakage.
If the PWM exceeds 24%, remove the fuel return lines to check for excessive fuel leakage from the overpressure valve in the rail or from the Injector/transfer tube.
