New Holland 4105 – EHR: Rear Remote No. 1 Over Voltage
Issue description
The control system has detected a voltage in the circuit for the rear remote valve #1 that is above the manufacturer's specified maximum limit. This electrical fault indicates that the signal from a component is outside its normal operating range, which can lead to improper operation or complete deactivation of the remote valve as a safety measure.

Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness leading to the #1 rear remote valve for damage, chafing, corrosion, or loose connections, particularly where the harness passes into the cab or connects to the valve block.
Check connectors for water ingress or moisture, which can create unintended electrical paths. Clean with electrical contact cleaner if necessary.
Test the position sensor (potentiometer) on the remote valve using a multimeter. Measure total resistance across outer terminals, then measure from the center wiper to an outer terminal while slowly actuating the manual override to check for smooth resistance changes without spikes.
Verify the tractor's overall system voltage to ensure a charging system issue is not causing high voltage across the machine.
Repair steps
Repair wiring and connectors
If damaged wiring or corroded connectors are found, repair or replace them. Ensure all connections are clean, tight, and secure. Clear fault codes and re-test.
Calibrate the remote valve
If components were replaced or memory is corrupt, use the tractor's instrument cluster display to enter the service menu (often the 'H' menu) and initiate calibration for the specific remote valve.
Replace faulty component (potentiometer, electronic module, or master switch)
If the potentiometer fails the resistance test, replace it. On some designs, this requires replacing the entire electronic module on top of the valve section. If the valve's internal electronics (driver) are faulty, replace the entire electronic control section. In some cases, intermittent issues have been resolved by replacing the master switch for the hydraulic system.
Replace hydraulic valve section
If the valve spool itself is sticking or damaged, causing the position sensor to report an out-of-range value, replace the entire hydraulic valve section.
