New Holland 4345 – EHR / TMF: Rear Remote Valve 7 Not Calibrated

Issue description

The Electro-Hydraulic Remote (EHR) control system has detected that the control lever for rear remote valve number 7 has not been calibrated. The controller does not recognize the lever's neutral position or its full range of movement, which may compromise the proper operation of the associated hydraulic functions. This typically requires a spool travel calibration and often occurs after replacing the valve or controller.

Applies to these machines

  • T7 Series
  • T7.220
  • T7.235
  • T7.250
  • T7.260
  • T7.270
  • T8 Series
  • T9 Series
  • T9.390
  • T9.450
  • T9.505
  • T9.560
  • T9.615
  • T9.670
  • TG Series

Check the cause

  1. Check for other active fault codes related to the armrest controller, CAN bus communication, or sensor voltages that might prevent a successful calibration

  2. Verify that the control lever for remote valve #7 is in the neutral position before starting

  3. Warm the hydraulic fluid to at least 50°C (122°F) for best calibration results

  4. Manually cycle the valve back and forth to clear any potential debris or sticking

  5. Inspect electrical connectors for the remote valve and the associated controller for corrosion, damage, or loose connections

Repair steps

  1. Access calibration menu

Enter the tractor's diagnostic or settings menu (often referred to as the 'H-Menu') through the in-cab display.

  2. Select valve for calibration

Navigate to the EHR/Remote Valve Calibration section and select rear remote valve #7.

  3. Initiate calibration sequence

Start the calibration process by pressing the appropriate key (e.g., 'PROG' key) and follow the on-screen prompts. This typically requires moving the control lever to its full extend and retract positions and holding it until the system registers the position.

  4. Verify and store calibration

Once the display indicates a successful calibration and fault code 4345 clears, turn the tractor off and wait a few seconds to ensure the new calibration values are stored.

  5. Perform alternative calibration (if applicable)

For older models or different configurations: With the engine off and key in the 'on' position, press and hold the timer switch on the valve. When prompted by the display sequence, set flow control to maximum and move the control lever to its full positions.

  6. Repeat calibration if it fails

If the initial calibration fails, repeat the procedure as a second attempt is sometimes successful.

  7. Address persistent calibration failures

If calibration repeatedly fails, inspect the control lever's potentiometer, the valve's spool position sensor, and the wiring harness. Replace faulty hardware as necessary.

Parts you might need

(13)
  • Rear Remote Valve Assembly

    719195010

Example OEM part number (alternatives include 47829237, 84230181). Verify fitment by model and serial number.

  • Rear Remote Hydraulic Valve Kit

    MT20116103

Example OEM part number (alternative 731200551). Often a dealer-installed accessory kit.

  • Hydraulic Control Lever / Joystick Potentiometer

If calibration fails due to the lever, the potentiometer may be faulty. Often requires replacing the entire lever assembly.
